What this site is

General guidance about appliance and heating fault codes, published in good faith and reviewed by qualified people. It is not a substitute for an inspection by a competent engineer, and it cannot account for the condition of your specific appliance or installation.

What you must not do

Do not carry out gas work unless you are Gas Safe Register registered. It is a criminal offence in the United Kingdom and it kills people every year. Where we say a fault needs an engineer, that is not a disclaimer — it is the answer.

Liability

We take reasonable care to keep the information accurate and current. We do not accept liability for loss or damage arising from work carried out on the basis of guidance on this site, except where liability cannot be excluded by law — which includes death or personal injury caused by our negligence, and fraud.

Content contributed by readers

Reports submitted by appliance owners are moderated before publication, but they are the personal experience of the person who wrote them, not our advice. If you believe something published here is inaccurate, unlawful or infringes your rights, tell us at hello@faultcodecheck.co.uk and we will act on it. We log every notice and respond with what we decided and why.

Trade marks

Manufacturer names and model names are the trade marks of their owners and are used here only to identify the appliance a fault code belongs to. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or authorised by any manufacturer.
