Ideal boilers fault codes

Ideal splits its codes into two families and the letter tells you which. An F code is a lockout the boiler has latched and will not clear on its own. An L code is a live operational fault the boiler is currently reporting and may clear by itself once the condition goes away. The Logic and Vogue ranges share most of the numbering, so an F1 means the same thing across both.

Where the code shows on a Ideal

Logic and Vogue models show the code on the small digital display below the dials. The display alternates between the code and the current flow temperature, so wait a few seconds to be sure which you are reading.

How to reset a Ideal

Press and hold the reset button on the front panel for around five seconds. On Logic models it is the button marked with a flame and a cross to the right of the dials.
