Siemens dishwasher fault codes

Siemens dishwashers use the same E-code numbering as Bosch and Neff, because they are the same appliances built by the same company — so the codes you will meet most, the flood and drain and inlet ones, mean exactly what they mean on a Bosch and we cover them once rather than twice. What is worth coming to Siemens for is the rest of the list. Siemens publish roughly twice as many codes on their website as any BSH manual contains, and the extra ones are here. They are also the badge with the most awkward sourcing in the group, which the pages say out loud rather than hiding.

Where the code shows on a Siemens

Siemens print a scope warning on their own code list that is more honest than most and worth reading before you look anything up: the error codes only appear if your dishwasher has a digital display, and the codes and recommended actions may not apply to the dishwasher you have at home — in which case check the manual for your appliance. On older machines with no numeric display there is no code to read at all, and the fault is signalled by indicator lamps instead. The same fault also renders differently across display generations, exactly as it does on a Bosch: a two-digit code with a colon on middle-aged machines, an alternating pair such as E:31-00 on most current ones, and a single four-digit string on the newest text displays. Siemens confirm separately that the E and F prefixes are the same fault, so an F15 and an E15 are one code. Where a Siemens iQ number is useful is in identifying the machine rather than the fault: the published ranges are iQ100, iQ300, iQ500 and iQ700, with SN denoting a 60cm machine and SR a 45cm slimline one.

How to reset a Siemens

Siemens give one reset and attach it to the electronics codes rather than to everything: switch the appliance off at the on/off switch, wait a few minutes, then switch it back on. If the code is still there, their instruction is to close the water tap and disconnect the dishwasher from the power supply before contacting Siemens Service. Note the order — water first, then power. The BSH manuals give the same procedure with a stated wait of at least two minutes and attach it to the general "a technical fault is present" entry, and they deliberately do not offer it for the water protection codes.
