Beko tumble dryer fault codes

If you are here looking for a Beko dryer fault code, the honest answer is that there is not one. Beko publish no error code table for tumble dryers anywhere — not in the manuals, not on their support site. We read 42 official Beko and Blomberg dryer manuals to be sure of that, covering almost the whole current UK range, and found no E codes and no F codes in any of them. There is exactly one alphanumeric message these machines show, and it has its own page below. Everything else your dryer tells you, it tells you with a named lamp.

Where the code shows on a Beko

Beko dryers communicate through indicator lamps rather than codes. A lamp for the filter, a lamp for the water container, and a troubleshooting chapter written in plain English with no numbers in it. That is deliberate rather than an omission, and it means a lit lamp on a Beko is a maintenance prompt rather than a fault to look up. The single exception is F L t, which is the only alphanumeric string in 42 official manuals, and which Beko print inconsistently even within their own documents — you may see it as F L t with spaces, as F Lt, or as FLT depending on the display and the manual. They are all the same message. It belongs to the current display generation only, so an older Beko or Blomberg machine will never show it. Blomberg is genuinely the same machine: the F L t passage in the Blomberg manuals is byte-identical to the Beko one, down to a missing space in Beko’s own typesetting. Grundig is different — they no longer sell tumble dryers in the UK at all, despite their own website copy still mentioning them. One thing to be wary of: third-party sites publish lists of Beko dryer E codes, E01 and E02 and so on. Those describe an engineer service-mode fault log rather than anything shown to an owner, and the lists contradict each other about what the codes mean. We do not reproduce them.

How to reset a Beko

There is no code to clear on a Beko dryer, so a reset means the ordinary thing: switch off at the wall, wait a minute, switch back on and start a programme. Do one thing first, and Beko themselves explain why better than any other manufacturer in this category. Open the door, take the washing out and separate it. Their safety guidance states that when a cycle is interrupted, heat can keep building in the drum and lead the clothes to ignite, "several hours after the dryer has been stopped" — they call it super heating, and they name a dryer stopping because of a fault as one of the ways it happens. Their instruction in that situation is to remove and separate the clothes immediately. Beko’s own manuals put this far more mildly, saying only not to stop the machine before the cycle has completed, so the version worth following is the one on their safety pages.
