What F69 means
Miele draw a distinction here that most manufacturers do not bother with, and it is worth understanding because it decides whether you are making a phone call or getting a torch. F69 and F78 both mean the circulation pump is blocked, and Miele treat those as owner-clearable with published instructions. F67, F68 and F79 mean a circulation pump fault, and those get the standard sentence about a technical fault you cannot remedy yourself.
Same component, two very different outcomes, and the code tells you which. The circulation pump is the one that drives water up to the spray arms — not the drain pump, which empties the machine. When it is blocked, water is not being thrown at the dishes with any force, so the usual complaint before the code appears is a cycle that runs to completion and leaves everything dirty. The cause Miele give is not a foreign object but a pump that has dried out: in longer breaks between cycles, lasting weeks or months, or when the machine is used for the first time, the pump may become dry and stick together.
The remedy Miele publish is a warm-water soak with a few drops of rinse aid rather than dismantling anything, which is a good deal less daunting than it sounds, and it is designed to free a stuck impeller rather than fish something out.

What to try yourself
Remove the lower spray arm and lift out the filter combination from the base of the wash cabinet. Miele’s F78 article includes the spray arm step; their F69 article starts at the filter.
Pour 1 litre of warm water, no hotter than 75 °C, with 3 to 5 drops of rinse aid into the dishwasher interior and leave it to soak for 5 minutes.
Miele: risk of scalding. Contact with hot water can cause scalding, so take care with heated water and do not use excessively hot water — 75 °C is their maximum.Refit the filter combination, making sure it lies flat in the base of the wash cabinet, refit the lower spray arm, and start the programme again.
Repeat the soak two to three times if the code returns. Miele say so explicitly; one pass often is not enough on a pump that has been idle for months.
If it still shows, Miele’s next step is the generic one for a possible technical fault: switch the dishwasher off, wait a few seconds, switch it back on, select the programme and press Start/Stop. If the fault persists after that, contact Miele.

What is the difference between F69 and F67?
Miele are precise about this. F69 and F78 mean the circulation pump is blocked, and they publish instructions for clearing it. F67, F68 and F79 mean a circulation pump fault, and those carry their standard wording that it is a technical fault you cannot remedy yourself. The code is telling you which side of that line you are on.
Is the circulation pump the same as the drain pump?
No, and mixing them up sends you to the wrong place. The circulation pump drives water up to the spray arms during the wash. The drain pump empties the machine at the end. A blocked circulation pump leaves dirty dishes; a blocked drain pump leaves standing water.
My dishes were coming out dirty before the code appeared. Related?
Possibly. A partially obstructed circulation pump reduces the force reaching the dishes before it stalls outright. But note that the case Miele actually describe is the opposite: a machine that has not run for weeks or months, or has never run, whose pump has dried and stuck. If yours has been sitting idle, that is the explanation.
Why does Miele’s manual call F78 a pump fault?
Because the manual and the website are written for different moments. The operating instructions list fault 78 as "Circulation pump fault" and give only the generic switch-off, switch-on, reselect sequence before calling Miele. The support article for the same code says the pump is blocked and gives the soak. Do the soak first; the article is the more specific of the two.
