Mira H fault codewhat it means and how to fix it

Flashing red and white with Start/Stop off. The cover PCB has failed — the board behind the front panel that reads the button and drives the lights.

Take care

Some of this is safe to check yourself, but the repair itself is not. If the fault comes back after one reset, stop resetting it and get a qualified electrician to look at the Mira properly.

Get a qualified electrician to look at your Mira H

We do not pass enquiries to a repair firm, so there is no form here. When you book a qualified electrician, tell them the make, the model and the exact code or message on the display, and ask whether they carry parts for this make — that is what turns one visit into a repair rather than a quote.

What H means

The cover PCB is the electronics in the front of the shower, the part you actually interact with. It carries the Start/Stop button, the status lights and the temperature control input, and it talks to the boards behind it. Code H means that board has failed, and Mira publish exactly one action for it: contact customer services. What makes this code awkward, and worth its own page rather than being folded in with the other board faults, is that the thing which has failed is also the thing the diagnostic depends on.

Mira’s entire fault-reporting scheme on this appliance is two lights, and those lights are driven by the cover PCB. So a partial failure of that board can produce indications that are misleading — lights that do not match the underlying condition, a button that reports itself pressed when it is not, an indication that changes when nothing else has. This is the one code in the table where the reported fault and the reporting mechanism are the same component.

Mira appear to be alert to that: a cover PCB failure appears three separate times in their table, reachable from three different initial states, which is unusual and suggests they expect it to present inconsistently. For an owner the practical consequence is simple. If the lights are behaving oddly rather than showing a clean pattern, do not spend a long time trying to decode them — record what you see, note that it is inconsistent, and pass that on. Inconsistency is itself the diagnostic here.

What causes it

Causes of the Mira H fault code, most common first
CauseWhat is actually happeningHow likely
Moisture reaching the front panel electronicsThe cover PCB is the board closest to the water and the steam. Ingress past a perished seal is the classic way it goes.Common
Button or membrane failure on the boardThe switch is operated wet-handed several times a day for years. Its failure can look like a board fault because it is mounted on the board.Common
Ribbon or connector to the main electronicsA cover PCB that is fine but not communicating. Cheaper to remedy and only distinguishable with the case open.Occasional
Component failure on the board itselfAge and thermal cycling. Presents as lights and buttons behaving in ways the table does not otherwise account for.Occasional

Common questions about Mira H

The lights are doing something not in Mira’s table. What does that mean?

Quite possibly this code. The lights are driven by the board that has failed, so an indication which does not match any published pattern is itself evidence — record what you see rather than trying to force it into a row.

Why does cover PCB failure appear several times in the code table?

Because it can be reached from more than one starting indication. Mira list it under different Start/Stop states, which is consistent with a fault that does not present the same way twice.

Is this the same as the button being stuck?

No — a stuck Start/Stop button is code G, a separate entry. They are related in that the button sits on this board, but Mira report them as different faults.
