Triton electric shower fault codes

Triton publish no fault codes. They publish a numbered fault-finding matrix and, on most models, two named indicator lamps; the Omnicare care shower adds LED flash patterns. Those are what you diagnose a Triton from — a lettered code you have found elsewhere is not theirs.

Where the code shows on a Triton

There is no display on a Triton electric shower and no lettered or numbered code, and there is no hidden diagnostic mode either. On the T80, T90, Seville, Amore, Aspirante, Amala and the rest of the standard range, what the appliance can tell you is carried in two lamps and Triton document both by name. The power on indicator is the neon in the start/stop button, and their own definition is that it lights when the electricity supply is switched on at the isolating switch — which makes it a direct test of whether the supply has physically arrived at the unit rather than an indication of anything internal. The low pressure indicator is the second, and it reports one specific condition. The one exception is the Omnicare, the thermostatic care shower: it has three indicators, a green power light, a red low flow light and a yellow shutdown light, and Triton’s Omnicare guide reads their flash patterns as specific failures. A low flow light flashing continuously when start/stop is pressed is a failed flow sensor; low flow and shutdown flashing alternately at switch-on is a failed start/stop board; all three flashing together is the outlet thermistor if the buzzer is silent and the power board if it sounds continuously. Every one of those ends in a part an engineer replaces, so the useful thing for an Omnicare owner is to note the pattern and report it. If you have found a lettered "Triton fault code" somewhere, it did not come from Triton; their published diagnostics are the numbered problems in the fault-finding tables, the two lamps and, on the Omnicare, those patterns.

How to reset a Triton

Switching a Triton off and on at the pull cord clears nothing that matters, and it is worth knowing that rather than trying it repeatedly. Two of Triton’s three protections reset on their own without any intervention: the TP temperature protection restores power to the elements automatically once things have cooled, and the low pressure cut-out restores power automatically when adequate pressure returns. Both are documented as automatic. The third, the abnormal safety cut-out, does not reset at all — it is a non-resettable device and Triton say a qualified engineer has to replace it after the underlying fault is repaired. So there is no useful reset sequence on a Triton beyond isolating it for safety. Their own instruction before any fault finding is to switch off the electricity at the mains supply and remove the circuit fuse.
