Beko E11 fault codewhat it means and how to fix it

Get it checkedWashing machinePrinted in the BW1O3721W, BW1O3821W and BW1O3841BW manuals, which are washing machines; the code names drying-side sensors, so it belongs to washer-dryers built on the same platform. Beko publish no other manual carrying itLast updated

A condenser or dryer temperature sensor failure, so this one is about the drying side. Beko print the same two-word remedy: power off.

Take care

Some of this is safe to check yourself, but the repair itself is not. If the fault comes back after one reset, stop resetting it and get a qualified appliance engineer to look at the Beko properly.

Get a qualified appliance engineer to look at your Beko E11

We do not pass enquiries to a repair firm, so there is no form here. When you book a qualified appliance engineer, tell them the make, the model and the exact code or message on the display, and ask whether they carry parts for this make — that is what turns one visit into a repair rather than a quote.

What E11 means

E11 is the one code in Beko’s BW1O table that is explicitly about drying rather than washing. Their fault description is "Condenser NTC or dryer NTC failure", which names two sensors in the same row, and their published remedy is the two words "Power off". If your machine is a washing machine with no drying function, this code is not going to appear, and something has been misread.

On a washer-dryer the drying side is a separate system with its own heat: a heater warms air, a fan pushes it through the drum, and the moisture is condensed back out rather than vented, because a plumbed-in machine under a worktop has nowhere to vent to. That condensing needs its own temperature measurement, and it needs two of them — one watching the drying air and one watching the condenser itself.

Beko group both under this code, which is honest about the fact that from outside you cannot tell which. The result is a machine that washes normally and stops where drying begins, which people often describe as the cycle finishing early. The practical consequence is that you have a working washing machine and a broken dryer, and that is a better position than it sounds while you wait for a visit.

What causes it

Causes of the Beko E11 fault code, most common first
CauseWhat is actually happeningHow likely
Dryer air temperature sensor failedOne of the two sensors Beko name in the row. Reports the temperature of the air being pushed through the drum.Common
Condenser sensor failedThe other. Watches the part that pulls moisture back out of the drying air, which is what makes a washer-dryer possible under a worktop.Common
Lint or scale in the condensing pathNot a sensor fault but it produces nonsense readings. Worth eliminating because it is maintenance rather than a part.Occasional

Can you fix it yourself?

What it costs to fix

Typical repair cost

£90–£200

A sensor and the visit come to roughly £90 to £200. A condensing channel cleared on the same visit costs the call-out and no part, which is the best available outcome.

Common questions about Beko E11

Can I still use it to wash?

In almost every case, yes. The drying system is separate from the washing system, so the machine will fill, wash, heat the water and spin as normal. Treat it as a washing machine and dry on a rack rather than restarting a drying programme that will stop in the same place.

Is there anything worth doing before booking?

Clean whatever your handbook says is user-accessible on the drying side. A condensing washer-dryer silts its condensing channel up with lint and scale over years, and a restricted one gives the sensors readings that make no sense. It will not fix a dead sensor but it costs nothing and it is the one thing here that is not a part.

Which of the two sensors has failed?

Beko do not say, and you cannot tell from outside. The row names the condenser NTC and the dryer NTC together, which is a fair reflection of the fact that both feed the same decision. Quote the code when you book and let the engineer measure.

Is a washer-dryer drying fault worth repairing?

That depends on how much you use it. Washer-dryer drying is slow and expensive to run compared with a heat pump dryer, and some households find they stop missing it. Get the quote itemised so you can see whether you are buying a sensor or a heater before you decide.
