Beko H status codewhat it means
A single letter H means the drum is too hot and the machine has paused itself. It clears on its own. This is not a fault code.
Before you start
What H means
H on a Beko washer-dryer is a temperature pause, not a failure, and it is worth knowing before you start looking for a repair. Beko give the fault type as "The temperature in the drum is high" and the remedy as: press start to suspend, wait several minutes, and when the drum temperature falls to a safe range the code clears and you press start to resume.
The machine is protecting the load and itself. It appears most often on washer-dryers part way through or just after a drying cycle, because a drying cycle deliberately puts a lot of heat into a sealed drum and the machine will not begin certain operations until that heat has come out again.
Two things to note. First, it is a single letter — not H1, H2 or H7, which belong to other manufacturers’ schemes entirely and will send you to the wrong answer. Second, if you open the door during this state you will let the heat out faster, but Beko do not tell you to, and on a machine that has just finished drying the drum and the glass can both be hot enough to be unpleasant. Waiting is genuinely the instruction.
What causes it
| Cause | What is actually happening | How likely |
|---|---|---|
| Drying cycle has just finished | The commonest case by far. The drum holds heat and the machine waits for it to fall before continuing. | Common |
| A hot wash followed immediately by another programme | Running a second cycle straight after a 90 degree wash gives the drum no time to cool. | Occasional |
| Poor ventilation around the machine | A washer-dryer built into a tight run of units sheds heat more slowly and pauses for longer. | Occasional |
What to try yourself
Press start to suspend, as Beko instruct, and simply wait. Several minutes is normal.
Leave the machine alone rather than power cycling it. Unplugging does not cool the drum any faster and loses the programme.
When the code clears, press start to resume. The cycle picks up where it left off.
If it happens on every drying cycle and the pauses are getting longer, check the machine has some air around it and that any vent is not blocked.
Get a qualified appliance engineer to look at your Beko H
We do not pass enquiries to a repair firm, so there is no form here. When you book a qualified appliance engineer, tell them the make, the model and the exact code or message on the display, and ask whether they carry parts for this make — that is what turns one visit into a repair rather than a quote.

- E05Get it checkedThe water temperature sensor has failed. Beko’s entire published remedy is two words — power off — and the leading zero matters enormously here.Related: heating and temperature
- EE0Get it checkedThe heating element circuit has failed. Beko publish EE0 for an open circuit and EE1 for a short, and both get the same two words: power off.Related: heating and temperature
- E11Get it checkedA condenser or dryer temperature sensor failure, so this one is about the drying side. Beko print the same two-word remedy: power off.Related: heating and temperature
- E18Get it checkedBeko say E18 is an imbalanced load stopping the spin. Nearly every repair site says it is a drainage fault. Beko wrote the manual, and the remedies are completely different.Related: same brand
- E5Get it checkedBeko give E5 as a clogged pump filter. This is the drainage code that most people arrive at through E18, and unlike E18 it really does mean the filter.Related: same brand
- E8Get it checkedThe machine asked for water and did not get enough. Beko list five things to check before calling anyone, and most of them are outside the machine.Related: same brand
