Baumatic Baumatic-built models before the Candy takeover fault codes
BDI632, BDWS60SS, BDF665W, BDWI640 and BDFS409, with Baumatic-written or Midea-template manuals. These do not use the Candy table: E1 (or E-1) is a slow fill, E3 is slow heating, E4 (or E-2 on the BDWS60SS) is water in the base, E6 and E7 are thermistor faults, and the BDI632 and BDWI640 flash programme lights instead of showing codes. Only the E4 page here matches these machines; E2 and E3 do not.
Codes on the Baumatic-built models before the Candy takeover follow the same Baumatic scheme as the rest of the range. Where a code behaves differently on this generation, the code page says so.
Baumatic fault codes
Every published Baumatic code. Open a code to see which models and years it applies to.
- E3Cannot drain. Baumatic name the siphon specifically, which points at the plumbing under your sink rather than the machine.Get it checked
- E2No water reaching the machine. Baumatic’s Candy-built models word it three ways across editions — kinked hose, closed hose, "does not fill" — and the checks are the same.Get it checked
- E4Water leak. Baumatic’s published fix for this code is to check the drain hose — but the instruction they should have given is elsewhere in the same manual.Stop — call an engineer
- E8Heating fault — or blocked filters. Baumatic give two quite different causes for one code, and one of them is free.Get it checked
- E5A control electronics fault on the Candy-era machines. On a Baumatic built before 2014 the same E6 and E7 are thermistor faults, which is a far smaller bill.Get it checked
