Hotpoint Hotpoint freestanding, full size fault codes
H7F and H8F prefixes, and the older HFC naming. Hotpoint publish no key to their model numbers, but F consistently marks the freestanding range and I the integrated one.
Codes on the Hotpoint freestanding, full size follow the same Hotpoint scheme as the rest of the range. Where a code behaves differently on this generation, the code page says so.
Hotpoint fault codes
Every published Hotpoint code. Open a code to see which models and years it applies to.
- F03Drain failure or timeout — one of only two codes Hotpoint invite you to look at yourself, and usually a blockage.Get it checked
- F10Heating element fault — and the page to read the safety notice on if your machine was built between 2005 and 2015.Get it checked
- F06Water fill timeout. The other code Hotpoint hand back to you, and their own checklist covers pressure as well as the tap.Get it checked
- F01Anti-flooding overflow. The one code in the Hotpoint list that offers no owner check at all — it goes straight to an engineer.Stop — call an engineer
- F08Temperature timeout on the two-digit system. Check the shape of your code first, because a single-digit F8 belongs to a different code set and is not about heat at all.Get it checked
- F11Wash pump failure. The dishes come out dirty because water is never reaching them with any force.Get it checked
- F13Main board fault. Worth getting the price before the part, because a board can cost a serious fraction of a new machine.Get it checked
- F12The main board and the display have stopped talking to each other. The one code in the Hotpoint list with a real owner fix buried in an engineer’s checklist.Get it checked
- F02The fill valve is letting water in when it should be shut. Turn the tap off — that is our instruction, not Hotpoint’s, and the difference is worth knowing.Stop — call an engineer
- F04The temperature sensor circuit has failed — open circuit or shorted. A cheap part, which makes this one of the better codes to get.Get it checked
- F09The main board is not programmed, or has the wrong settings file. Usually means a board has been changed rather than that anything has worn out.Get it checked
- F07The flow turbine reported no water arriving when the machine had in fact filled. The measuring device rather than the water supply.Get it checked
- F05The pressure switch never confirmed the fill, though the turbine says the water went in. A code Hotpoint describe in detail and then leave off their own list.Get it checked
- F15A cross-check between the wash pump and the drain pump does not add up. Hotpoint’s published remedy names both pumps, which is worth questioning.Get it checked
