The Care variant is the assisted-living model with a five-year parts guarantee. Documents LP, E1, E2 and E3, with different meanings from the Glee.
Codes on the Bristan Joy and Joy Care follow the same Bristan scheme as the rest of the range. Where a code behaves differently on this generation, the code page says so.
Bristan fault codes
Every published Bristan code. Open a code to see which models and years it applies to.
- LPTwo letters that look like an abbreviation for low pressure. On a Joy Care, Bristan file six different causes under them, including a tripped cut-out.Get it checked
- E1The code where Bristan contradict themselves. On a Glee it is a failed thermistor and a phone call; on a Joy Care, hot water left in the unit or a blockage you clear yourself.Get it checked
- E3A Joy Care code about water arriving. Two of Bristan’s four causes are things you can check yourself in a few minutes and cost nothing.Get it checked
- E2A Joy Care code covering two component faults: an inlet or outlet thermistor, or the temperature control dial. Neither is an owner repair.Get it checked
- CLNot a fault. A scheduled cleaning reminder that runs for five shower cycles and then stops on its own, whether or not you do anything.Usually simple to fix
- Two dashes on the displayStandby, and nothing more. Bristan document two dashes as meaning the shower is powered and ready to start, which is the opposite of a fault.Usually simple to fix
