Beko Er 32 fault codewhat it means and how to fix it

Get it checkedOvenPyrolytic models only. The 31 non-pyrolytic Beko oven manuals contain no code table and answer this symptom through their troubleshooting section instead.Last updated

Oven heating errors, covering Er 32 to Er 41. This is the band for an oven that lights up, whirs and never gets hot.

Take care

Some of this is safe to check yourself, but the repair itself is not. If the fault comes back after one reset, stop resetting it and get a qualified appliance engineer to look at the Beko properly.

What Er 32 means

Beko group ten codes under the heading oven heating errors, and this is the band that matches the most common oven complaint there is: everything works except the heat. Their published solution is the same as for almost every band — consult an authorized service for the error to be resolved — with no owner check offered.

What is worth understanding is that in a fan oven, heating and not heating are usually separate systems from each other. The main element sits in a ring behind the rear baffle plate with the fan in front of it, and the grill is a completely separate element in the roof of the cavity. So an oven that grills perfectly and will not bake is not a partly broken oven, it is an oven where one of two independent heating systems has failed, and that is genuinely useful information to have established before anyone attends.

Beko will not tell you which of the ten codes in this band means what, so the symptom is doing more work than the number. Establish which functions still produce heat and which do not before you call.

What causes it

Causes of the Beko Er 32 fault code, most common first
CauseWhat is actually happeningHow likely
A heating element has failedThe most common cause of an oven that runs and does not heat. On a fan oven the element is behind the rear baffle and out of sight.Common
A fault in the switching that energises an elementThe relay or control side rather than the element itself. It presents identically from the front, which is why the diagnosis needs the appliance opened.Common
A thermal cut-out has operatedOvens carry protection that removes power to the heating circuit if temperatures go out of range, and a tripped cut-out looks like a dead element.Occasional

What to try yourself

  1. Note the exact number, then work out which functions still make heat. Try the grill on its own, and try the fan oven on its own.

  2. If the grill glows and the fan oven stays cold, say so when you call. That points at one specific element rather than at the oven generally.

  3. Check the cooker circuit breaker has not partly tripped, and that the oven has full power rather than intermittent supply.

Do not remove the rear baffle plate to inspect the element. It is wired to a cooker circuit and Beko route this band to an engineer for good reason.
  4. Contact an authorised service. Beko publish no owner remedy for any code in this band.

Get a qualified appliance engineer to look at your Beko Er 32

We do not pass enquiries to a repair firm, so there is no form here. When you book a qualified appliance engineer, tell them the make, the model and the exact code or message on the display, and ask whether they carry parts for this make — that is what turns one visit into a repair rather than a quote.

What it costs to fix

Typical repair cost

£100–£220

Time on site

15 minutes

A fan oven element is typically £20 to £50 as a part, with the visit being most of the cost. A control fault rather than an element is more.

Sources and how we verified this

We establish the facts from the sources below and then write the explanation ourselves. We do not copy manufacturer wording and we do not host their manuals.

  • Manufacturer technical and service documentation

This page has not been reviewed by an engineer, and we would rather tell you that than imply otherwise. The severity rating follows what the manufacturer publishes: where they say isolate the appliance and call someone, so do we.
