Beko Er 59 fault codewhat it means and how to fix it
Beko call this band oven lid errors, which is their phrase for the door. Er 59 to Er 64 cover the door and its lock.
Take care
What Er 59 means
The first thing to say is a translation note, because it will otherwise send people to the wrong page. Beko head this band oven lid errors, and a lid is not what anyone in Britain calls the front of an oven. It reads as a translation artefact for a hinged door, and every other manufacturer in this category calls it a door.
If you are looking for a Beko door lock code, this band is it. Er 59 to Er 64 are the six codes, and Beko’s answer for all of them is the standard sentence: consult an authorized service for the error to be resolved. On a pyrolytic oven — and these codes only exist on pyrolytic models — the door lock is a substantial mechanism, because it has to hold the door shut against a cavity running between 420 and 480°C and refuse to release until it is safe.
So a door fault here can present in either direction: an oven that will not start because it cannot confirm the door is shut, or a door that will not open because the lock will not release. Worth separating this from the H display, which is the lock working correctly rather than failing.
What causes it
| Cause | What is actually happening | How likely |
|---|---|---|
| The door lock mechanism has failed | The pyrolytic lock is a motorised assembly rather than a simple catch, and it carries more duty than a conventional oven door lock. | Common |
| The door switch or its sensing has failed | The oven has to know whether the door is open before it will heat, and a sensing fault stops it committing either way. | Common |
| Something is obstructing the door or the latch | Debris in the seal or a shelf sitting proud can hold the door fractionally open, which stops the lock engaging cleanly. | Occasional |
What to try yourself
Check first that this is a fault rather than the lock doing its job. If you have just run a self-clean and the display shows H, the oven is simply still too hot.
Open and close the door and look right around the seal for debris or anything caught that would hold it slightly open.
Check that shelves and any accessories are pushed fully home, since anything proud at the front stops the door seating.
Contact an authorised service. Beko publish no owner remedy for this band, and forcing a pyrolytic lock is not something to attempt.
Never force the handle. Beko say this in their own pyrolysis instructions and it applies just as much when the lock is faulty.

We do not pass enquiries to a repair firm, so there is no form here. When you book a qualified appliance engineer, tell them the make, the model and the exact code or message on the display, and ask whether they carry parts for this make — that is what turns one visit into a repair rather than a quote.
