Samsung dC fault codewhat it means and how to fix it
The divider is in the wrong place for the mode you selected. Dual cook needs it in, single cook needs it out, and the oven will not proceed otherwise.
Take care
What dC means
Samsung ovens with Dual Cook use a physical divider that splits the cavity into two independently controlled zones. This code is the oven telling you the divider and the mode disagree. Samsung publish both directions: it appears if the divider is removed during cooking in Dual Cook mode, and if the divider is inserted during cooking in Single Cook mode. Their remedy is that the divider must not be removed during cooking in Dual Cook mode, then the standard turn off and restart, and if the problem continues, all power off for 30 seconds or more. Worth knowing about the code string, because it is written several ways.
Samsung’s website presents dC and dE as a pair. Their UK manuals only ever print it as -dC- with hyphens, and dE appears in none of them — it comes from their US page, where a stray editorial note suggests the pairing began as a content management artefact. All four forms mean the same thing, so whichever is on your display, this is the page.
What causes it
| Cause | What is actually happening | How likely |
|---|---|---|
| The divider was removed during a Dual Cook programme | Samsung name this directly. The two zones only exist while the divider is in place, so removing it mid-cycle leaves the oven controlling something that is no longer there. | Common |
| The divider was left in during a Single Cook programme | The reverse case, also published by Samsung. Single cook expects one cavity and the divider prevents that. | Common |
| The divider is not fully seated | Our own check rather than Samsung’s. A divider that has not gone fully home may not be detected, which presents the same way as one that is absent. | Occasional |
What to try yourself
Work out which way round the mismatch is: dual cook wants the divider in, single cook wants it out.
Put the divider in or take it out to match the mode, and push it fully home if you are fitting it.
The cavity may be hot. Use gloves, and let the oven cool if you are reaching in after a cook rather than before one.Turn the oven off and restart. If the code persists, turn off all power for 30 seconds or more and then reconnect.
Get a qualified appliance engineer to look at your Samsung dC
We do not pass enquiries to a repair firm, so there is no form here. When you book a qualified appliance engineer, tell them the make, the model and the exact code or message on the display, and ask whether they carry parts for this make — that is what turns one visit into a repair rather than a quote.
