SMA Sunny Tripower fault codes
Three-phase, more often on larger domestic and small commercial installations. The Sunny Tripower 3.0 to 6.0 operating manual carries the same event pages as the Sunny Boy 3.0 to 6.0, and Sunny Tripower X publishes the same 3501, 3601 and 3701. SMA still publish model-specific articles for some events, so the family matters when looking anything up.
Codes on the Sunny Tripower follow the same SMA scheme as the rest of the range. Where a code behaves differently on this generation, the code page says so.

- 3501Insulation resistance too low. SMA are unusually direct: the error is not caused by the inverter, it is in the DC installation — and it can come and go with the weather.Stop — call an engineer
- Inverter not connecting to the gridSMA disable the grid connection deliberately when a pre-start check fails. The event number in the Results menu is what tells you which check.Get it checked
- 3701Residual current. Unlike the insulation event this one trips a running system, and SMA publish the threshold: a sudden jump of 30 milliamps or more.Stop — call an engineer
