What E10 means
E10 sits in the E1 family, which in this scheme means a water supply problem: the machine called for water and did not get enough of it in time. It appears as E11 or C1 on some models, and as a single beep and a single flash on machines without a display. The manufacturer publishes something here that most do not, which is a specification rather than a vague instruction. These machines want a supply pressure between 0.5 and 8 bar. That gives you a number to work against instead of guessing whether the flow "seems alright", and it also explains a category of fault that has nothing to do with the machine at all — a property on a weak or shared mains, or one where a pressure-reducing valve has been set low, can sit below the bottom of that range and produce this code on a machine in perfect condition. It is worth knowing before you pay somebody to tell you the appliance is fine.

What to try yourself
On a machine with no display, count the pulses first. One beep and one flash puts you on a fill fault; two would send you to draining instead.
Check the tap is fully open, turning it right off and right on again rather than judging by the handle position.
Turn the tap off, unscrew the fill hose at the machine end into a bucket, and rinse the gauze filter in the connector until light passes through it.
Tap off before you unscrew, and a towel underneath. The hose holds more water than it looks like it should.Test the supply while the hose is off. Time how long the open tap takes to fill a two-litre jug — if it takes more than about fifteen seconds, the supply rather than the machine is the problem, and no amount of appliance repair will fix it.
Straighten the hose along its whole run, reconnect finger tight plus a quarter turn, and run a short cycle while watching both ends for weeping.

What is the difference between E10 and E11?
Nothing you need to act on. Both sit in the E1 water supply family, and the manufacturer publishes them in the same article with the same checks, alongside C1 and the one-beep signal.
How do I know if my water pressure is the problem?
The manufacturer specifies 0.5 to 8 bar. Without a gauge, the jug test is a reasonable proxy: disconnect the hose, run the tap into a two-litre jug and time it. A tap that struggles to fill it briskly is not going to satisfy the machine.
Could a water softener or filter be causing it?
It can. Anything in line ahead of the machine — a softener, a whole-house filter, an old stopcock that no longer opens fully — reduces what reaches the inlet. Test at the tap the machine actually connects to, not at the kitchen mixer.
