What E02 means
Beko call E02 a water outage error, which is a more literal name than most manufacturers use and describes the situation exactly: the machine called for water and none arrived. Their remedy starts with checking the water supply and then moves to cleaning the filters, and only if the fault continues do they ask you to close the machine and contact an authorised service agent. Compare that with E01 and E07, where the instruction opens with cutting the electricity and closing the valve. Beko are drawing a clear line between the faults they think you should investigate and the ones they want isolated immediately, and E02 is firmly on the investigate side. The filters coming into a water supply fault surprises people, since filters feel like a draining concern. There are two different filters involved and they do different jobs. The gauze filter in the inlet hose connection catches grit from the mains before it enters the machine, and when it silts up the flow drops. The filter assembly in the base of the tub catches food debris. For E02 the inlet one is the relevant one, and it is the one most owners have never looked at, because nothing in normal use ever prompts you to.

What to try yourself
Run the cold tap at the kitchen sink. If that is weak or dry too, the problem is the household supply rather than the machine.
Check the tap feeding the dishwasher is fully open, and check any isolation valve under the sink.
Pull the machine out enough to see the inlet hose along its length and straighten any kink.
Turn the tap off, disconnect the hose and clean the gauze filter in the connection. This is the filter Beko mean, and most owners have never looked at it.
Have a towel ready. There is always water left in the hose, however carefully you close the tap.Reconnect, turn the water back on and run a short programme, watching the connection for weeping.

Common questions about Beko E02
Which filter does Beko mean?
The gauze one in the inlet hose connection, not the assembly in the base of the tub. They do different jobs — the inlet filter keeps mains grit out of the machine and the tub filter catches food. For a water supply fault it is the inlet one that matters, and it is the one almost nobody has cleaned.
Why does Beko not tell me to cut the power for this one?
Because they do not consider it serious, and the difference is deliberate. Their solutions for E01 and E07 both open with cutting the electricity and closing the valve. E02 opens with checking the water supply. When a manufacturer with only four documented codes varies the instruction like that, the variation is the message.
What shows on a machine with no display?
Beko specify P2 blinking with the water outage icon illuminated and the washing light on. They name the lights rather than asking you to count anything.
