What E06 means

Beko give E06 as the temperature sensor in the dishwasher being faulty, and their instruction is more conditional than their other codes. Where E01 and E07 say to isolate the machine immediately, E06 says that if you see this error continuously and washing performance has reduced, close the dishwasher and contact an authorised service agent. That second clause is doing real work. Beko are telling you that a sensor fault is only worth acting on if it is actually affecting the wash, which is a sensible position for a component that reports rather than does. The sensor tells the control board how hot the water is. If it fails, the board loses its reference, and what happens next depends on how the machine handles the loss. Some will heat conservatively and give you a lukewarm wash. Some will not heat at all. Some will run more or less normally for a while. So the practical test is the one Beko point you at: are the dishes still coming out clean, and are they coming out dry? Dishwashers dry by heating the load and letting water evaporate off hot china rather than by blowing air at it, so wet dishes at the end of a cycle are usually the first sign that the heat has gone even when nothing else has changed.

The code shows but the dishes are fine. Do I need to do anything?

Beko’s own wording makes the wash the test: they ask you to act if you see the error continuously and washing performance has reduced. If the dishes are coming out clean and dry, you have time. Keep an eye on it rather than ignoring it, because a sensor fault tends to get worse rather than better.

How would I know performance has dropped?

Two things. Grease not shifting, because hot water is what dissolves it. And wet dishes at the end, because dishwashers dry by heating the load rather than by blowing air. Wet crockery is often the first sign.

Is a sensor an expensive part?

The part itself is cheap. Getting to it is where the money goes, since it means pulling the machine out and opening it up, so most of the bill is labour.
