Beko E02 fault codewhat it means and how to fix it
No inlet water, on the washer-dryer platform. Note the leading zero — this is a different code family from E8, and the two are not interchangeable.
Take care
What E02 means
E02 is the fill failure on Beko’s washer-dryer platform, and the leading zero matters more than it looks. Beko run two incompatible code sets across machines sold at the same time. On the BM3WT3741 family, a fill failure is E8 and lives in a hidden diagnostic readout. On the BMM5DFO5741W family, which covers the BMDSC7545B and WTS210 as well, a fill failure is E02, appears live on the control panel, and is accompanied by a buzzer.
Beko publish no way for an owner to tell which family their machine belongs to except the format of the code itself. Their stated fault type is "No inlet water" and the remedy is a clear list: check the tap is on and the mains supply is not cut, check the mesh filter in the inlet hose and the inlet valve for blockage, and check the inlet hose is not frozen.
That last item is worth pausing on, because it is the one people dismiss and it is real — a fill hose running through an unheated utility, a garage or an outhouse will freeze solid in a cold snap and thaw with no trace by the time an engineer arrives.
What causes it
| Cause | What is actually happening | How likely |
|---|---|---|
| Tap closed or supply interrupted | Beko name both. The first check and the one that costs nothing. | Common |
| Mesh filter in the inlet hose blocked | Beko name the mesh filter explicitly. It silts up in hard water areas and is invisible until you unscrew the hose. | Common |
| Inlet hose frozen | Beko list this specifically. Real wherever the hose runs through a garage, outhouse or unheated utility room. | Occasional |
| Inlet valve blocked or failed | Beko name the valve alongside the mesh. Established once the supply is proven. | Occasional |
What to try yourself
Check the tap is fully open and run another cold tap to confirm the house has water.
If the weather is near freezing and the hose runs anywhere unheated, feel along it for a solid section. Warm it gently with towels soaked in hot water rather than anything naked.
Never use a heat gun, a blowtorch or boiling water directly on the hose or the valve.Turn the tap off, unscrew the fill hose at the tap end and rinse the mesh filter in the connector.
Reconnect, open the tap, and watch both ends for weeping before pushing the machine back.
Start the cycle again. Beko’s instruction for this code is to eliminate the causes above and contact service only if the code still shows; the restart they print on this platform, against U4, is selector to OFF, then select any programme and press Start/Pause.
Get a qualified appliance engineer to look at your Beko E02
We do not pass enquiries to a repair firm, so there is no form here. When you book a qualified appliance engineer, tell them the make, the model and the exact code or message on the display, and ask whether they carry parts for this make — that is what turns one visit into a repair rather than a quote.
