Beko E27 fault codewhat it means and how to fix it
Beko print no cause for E27 at all — only the instruction "check the water drain of the machine". The blank cell is deliberate, and it tells you something.
Take care
What E27 means
E27 is one of two codes where Beko merge the cause cell in their own table and print nothing in it. All they publish is the remedy: check the water drain of the machine, cross-referenced to their section on connecting the drain hose to the drain. We are not going to invent a cause line they did not write.
What the remedy tells you is that Beko are pointing outside the machine rather than inside it — the drain hose and where it connects, rather than the pump. That distinction is what separates E27 from E5, which is explicitly the pump filter. Read together, the pair covers the drain path in two halves: E5 for the trap inside the machine, E27 for everything after it. The things that go wrong on that side are the standpipe silting up, the hose pushed too far down into the standpipe so it siphons, the hose sitting too low or too high, and a shared kitchen waste that is blocked with grease somewhere else entirely.
Beko publish a height range for the drain elsewhere in the same manual family, and a hose looped over the wrong height is a genuinely common cause of a machine that empties slowly rather than not at all.
What causes it
| Cause | What is actually happening | How likely |
|---|---|---|
| Drain hose kinked or crushed | Behind the machine, usually from being pushed back. The first thing to look at because it costs nothing. | Common |
| Standpipe or household waste blocked | Grease and detergent scale build up in the pipe rather than in the machine. The machine is healthy; the plumbing is not. | Common |
| Hose at the wrong height or pushed too far in | Too low and it siphons the drum empty as it fills; too high and the pump cannot lift the water. Beko cross-refer to their own drain connection instructions. | Occasional |
What to try yourself
Pull the machine out and look at the whole run of the drain hose. Straighten any kink and check the machine is not standing on it.
Check where the hose enters the standpipe. It should sit in the top of the pipe, not be pushed down into the water below.
Pour a couple of litres of water down the standpipe on its own. If it backs up, the blockage is in your plumbing rather than the machine.
If the machine shares a waste with a sink, check the sink drains freely too. A greasy trap upstream will stop the machine emptying.
Clean the pump filter as well, so you can rule out the inside of the machine before calling anyone.
Get a qualified appliance engineer to look at your Beko E27
We do not pass enquiries to a repair firm, so there is no form here. When you book a qualified appliance engineer, tell them the make, the model and the exact code or message on the display, and ask whether they carry parts for this make — that is what turns one visit into a repair rather than a quote.
