Beko Err fault codewhat it means and how to fix it
Err means the safety algorithm is still running in the diagnostic readout. Beko tell you to wait for it to pass and press the buttons again.
Before you start
What Err means
Err is not a fault. It appears inside the diagnostic readout on Beko machines that have one, and Beko explain it as "Safety algorithm is run on the appliance" with the remedy "wait for the writing to pass, then press auxiliary buttons 1 and 2 again and re-check the on-screen information".
In plain terms, you have entered the service readout while the machine is still doing its own internal checks, and it is telling you to try again in a moment. It is worth a page of its own for two reasons. The first is that anyone who sees it is, by definition, already poking around in a diagnostic mode they found instructions for somewhere, and they will reasonably assume a display reading "Err" is bad news.
The second is that "Err" as a bare string appears in several other manufacturers’ schemes as a genuine fault — AEG and Electrolux ovens use an Err prefix for real error codes — so a search for it lands people on answers belonging to a different appliance entirely. On a Beko washing machine, in this context, it means wait a moment and press the buttons again.
What causes it
| Cause | What is actually happening | How likely |
|---|---|---|
| Diagnostic readout entered too early | The machine is still running its internal safety checks. Beko’s stated cause, and the only one they give. | Common |
| Buttons released too soon | The sequence needs both auxiliary buttons held through the whole 3-2-1 countdown. Letting go early lands you here. | Occasional |
What to try yourself
Wait. Beko’s instruction is to let the writing pass rather than to press anything.
Press auxiliary buttons 1 and 2 again to re-enter the readout once it has cleared.
Read the on-screen information again. You should now get the lifetime cycle count followed by any stored failure codes.
Get a qualified appliance engineer to look at your Beko Err
We do not pass enquiries to a repair firm, so there is no form here. When you book a qualified appliance engineer, tell them the make, the model and the exact code or message on the display, and ask whether they carry parts for this make — that is what turns one visit into a repair rather than a quote.
