Beko No fault codea plain-English guide

Usually simple to fixWashing machineApplies to the majority of the current Beko UK laundry range. Twenty-seven of thirty-three manuals checked contain no codes.Last updated

Most Beko washing machines cannot show a fault code at all. Twenty-seven of thirty-three current UK manuals contain no codes whatsoever, only a symptom table.

Before you start

This one is usually safe to look at yourself. Do not remove any panel that is held on with screws or clips — everything below is done from the outside of the washing machine.

What this means

If you are looking for a Beko fault code and cannot find one, the most likely explanation is that your machine does not have any. We checked every Beko UK laundry manual reachable from their own washing machine and washer-dryer category pages — thirty-three of them — and searched each for code patterns, reading the six with no text layer page by page.

Six contain a code table: the BM3WT3741 and BM1WU3721 carry the hidden diagnostic readout, the BMM5DFO5741W washer-dryer manual carries a five-row live-display table, and the three BW1O manuals carry the eighteen-code table on their printed page 38. The other twenty-seven contain no codes at all, only a symptom-based troubleshooting table laid out as problem, reason and solution. That means the honest answer for the great majority of the current Beko range is that the machine communicates by behaviour rather than by code, and the manufacturer intends you to work from the symptom. This matters because the internet is full of long Beko code lists, and they are contaminated.

Some are reconstructed from a different platform, some are Beko dishwasher codes — E:01 and E:02 belong to Beko dishwashers, not washing machines — and some are simply invented. Applying a code meaning to a machine that cannot produce codes is how people end up replacing parts that were never faulty.

What to try yourself

  1. Describe the behaviour rather than hunting for a code. Does it fill, does it turn, does it heat, does it empty, does it spin. That sequence is how the symptom table in your manual is organised.

  2. Check the pump filter and the inlet hose regardless. Between them they account for a very large share of Beko complaints with no code attached.

  3. Try Beko’s own reset for a machine that has stopped working: press and hold the Start/Pause/Cancel button for three seconds. That is what their UK support FAQ says, and if it does not help, the same page says you may need an engineer.

  4. If your machine is a BM3WT3741 or BM1WU3721, switch it off and hold auxiliary buttons 1 and 2 through the countdown to read stored codes.

  5. Ignore third-party Beko code lists unless you can match them to your own manual. Several circulating lists are dishwasher codes or belong to another platform entirely.

Get a qualified appliance engineer to look at your Beko washing machine

We do not pass enquiries to a repair firm, so there is no form here. When you book a qualified appliance engineer, tell them the make, the model and the exact code or message on the display, and ask whether they carry parts for this make — that is what turns one visit into a repair rather than a quote.

What we check instead

Sources and how we verified this

We establish the facts from the sources below and then write the explanation ourselves. We do not copy manufacturer wording and we do not host their manuals.

  • Manufacturer technical and service documentation
  • Manufacturer support portal

This page has not been reviewed by an engineer, and we would rather tell you that than imply otherwise. The severity rating follows what the manufacturer publishes: where they say isolate the appliance and call someone, so do we.
