Miele’s own support content splits drain fault guidance between machines from the G 1000 to G 6000 generations and these later ones, so identifying which side you are on matters. This is the only year marker Miele publish anywhere in their dishwasher documentation.
Codes on the Miele G7 and G5 Discovery, 2019 onwards follow the same Miele scheme as the rest of the range. Where a code behaves differently on this generation, the code page says so.
Fault codes
All Miele codes that apply to this model.
- F11Water left standing in the cabinet because the machine cannot drain. Miele treat this as an owner job and walk you through the drain pump.Get it checked
- F12The water inlet is blocked or restricted. Miele use the same wording for F13, F15 and F173, and warn that the hose connection houses an electrical valve.Get it checked
- F70The Waterproof System has activated. Miele give the clearest emergency instruction of any dishwasher manufacturer — close the stopcock, switch off, unplug, call.Stop — call an engineer
- F69The circulation pump is blocked. Miele distinguish this from a pump fault, and a blockage is yours to clear.Get it checked
- F52A sensor has detected too much foam and stopped the programme. Nothing is broken — the machine is protecting itself from suds.Usually simple to fix
- F86The salt reservoir flap in the door is not closed. Ten seconds to fix, and worth doing properly because loose salt corrodes the tub.Usually simple to fix
