Redring Other Redring electric showers fault codes
The A7 and earlier ranges, and the Glow Thermostatic, a push-button thermostatic shower that shares the Selectronic’s electronics and its Ot over-temperature display but publishes no LP or E codes. The troubleshooting text is largely shared across vintages, which is how the same wording ended up under two different company names.
Codes on the Other Redring electric showers follow the same Redring scheme as the rest of the range. Where a code behaves differently on this generation, the code page says so.
Redring fault codes
Every published Redring code. Open a code to see which models and years it applies to.
- Water too COLDRedring answer this with eight checks in a deliberate order, and the seventh is the one nobody guesses: run the shower cold to reset the cut-out.Get it checked
- otOver Temperature Shutdown on a Selectronic: the water got too hot, so the shower stopped it. Purge it cold before restarting, and stop using the isolator to switch off.Get it checked
- Shower cycles from HOT to COLDRedring name one cause: the temperature is set too high, so the thermal cut-out keeps operating. Their fix is a dial adjustment done slowly.Get it checked
- Water too HOTRedring give six checks, and the one that distinguishes them is a filter inside the solenoid valve that other brands do not send you to.Get it checked
- Water dripping from the bottom of the showerRedring attribute this to the safety pressure relief having operated, and they are clear it is a replacement part rather than something that reseals.Get it checked
- LPLP on a Selectronic Advanced means the water supply has dropped below two litres a minute. The shower has cut its heaters rather than boil a trickle.Get it checked
- Runs for five seconds then switches offA Selectronic that starts, runs for about five seconds and stops by itself has not seen water flowing. Redring name the flow transducer and, before it, the supply.Get it checked
- E1E1 on a Selectronic Advanced is the outlet temperature sensor open or short circuit. It is the sensor that guards against scalding, so the shower will not run without it.Get it checked
- E2E2 on a Selectronic Advanced is the inlet temperature sensor out of range. The shower cannot work out how much heat to add, so it declines to guess.Get it checked
- Display behaves erraticallyRedring’s own heading for a Selectronic display doing odd things. Their fix is a power cycle at the isolator, and their aside is that the isolator should be off between showers anyway.Get it checked
- Filter or handset filling with solid materialRedring’s most unusual entry. They say this is not a shower fault at all and send you to a plumber to look at your water supply.Get it checked
- tA lone t on a Selectronic Premier, with bleeps, is the thirty-minute auto switch-off warning in temperature-lock mode. Press Warmer or Cooler and it carries on.Usually simple to fix
- Heating after switch-offA Selectronic that has been stopped with the Start/Stop button but can still be heard heating has lost control of its elements. Redring’s answer is a new triac board; yours is the isolator.Stop — call an engineer
