myenergi zappi Comms Fault
Code 26: the zappi cannot talk to its own built-in protection components. One reset is the published action; a repeat is a hardware fault inside the unit.

Get a registered electrician to look at your myenergi zappi ev charger
We do not pass enquiries to a repair firm, so there is no form here. When you book a registered electrician, tell them the make, the model and the exact code or message on the display, and ask whether they carry parts for this make — that is what turns one visit into a repair rather than a quote.
What this means
Comms Fault, fault code 26, sounds like a Wi-Fi problem and is not one. The comms in question are internal: myenergi define the code as the zappi having detected an issue with the built-in protection components, meaning the main controller and the separate protection board that watches for residual current and checks the earth are no longer agreeing with each other. The zappi treats that as a reason not to charge, because it cannot prove the protection is listening.
The published action is to unplug the EV and press and hold the button to reset the unit, and a single occurrence after a power cut or a firmware update is worth exactly that one reset. What it is not worth is a second and third. A protection board that has stopped responding is a component failure, and the closing line of myenergi’s table applies: if the fault persists, stop using the zappi and contact your supplier or myenergi technical support.
Nothing about this code touches the house wiring, the earth or the supply, so an electrician cannot fix it from outside the unit, and the warranty position is the first thing to establish. It sits in a family with 27, where the same components fail their pre-charge test, and 28, where the main relay has welded; all three are the charger reporting on its own safety hardware.
What causes it
| Cause | What is actually happening | How likely |
|---|---|---|
| The protection board has stopped communicating | myenergi’s stated meaning. The controller cannot confirm the residual-current and earth protection is working, so it will not start a charge. | Common |
| An interrupted firmware update or power cut | The two boards can come back up out of step after the supply drops. This is the case the single published reset is for. | Occasional |
| A loose internal connector | The boards are linked by a cable inside the enclosure. Vibration or a poor fit at installation can loosen it. Finding out is an installer job with the unit isolated, not an owner one. | Occasional |

- Contactor FaultGet it checkedCode 28. myenergi say a relay inside the unit has welded, and that a second relay is holding the supply to your car isolated. Their action is one reset; if it returns, contact them.Related: internal protection
- Output FaultGet it checkedCode 24: the zappi has measured voltage on its output when the output should have been off. The unit stays off; reset once, and if it repeats it is a call to myenergi.Related: internal protection
- Voltage MismatchGet it checkedCode 32: the zappi’s controller and its protection components measured the output voltage differently. A disagreement between two safety measurements, so the unit stops.Related: internal protection

- PE FaultStop — call an engineerCode 25. myenergi say the earth is either disconnected or its impedance is too high — a problem in the installation rather than in the charger.Related: same brand
