myenergi zappi Voltage Mismatch

Get it checkedEV chargerzappi v2 and v2.1.Last updated

Code 32: the zappi’s controller and its protection components measured the output voltage differently. A disagreement between two safety measurements, so the unit stops.

Take care

Some of this is safe to check yourself, but the repair itself is not. If the fault comes back after one reset, stop resetting it and get a registered electrician to look at the myenergi zappi properly.

Get a registered electrician to look at your myenergi zappi ev charger

We do not pass enquiries to a repair firm, so there is no form here. When you book a registered electrician, tell them the make, the model and the exact code or message on the display, and ask whether they carry parts for this make — that is what turns one visit into a repair rather than a quote.

What this means

The zappi measures the voltage it is sending to the car in two places, once in the main controller and once in the separate protection components, and Voltage Mismatch, code 32, is the message when the two do not agree. myenergi’s definition is exactly that: the output voltage detected by zappi and the built-in protection components is not the same.

Two measurements are used because each checks the other; if one board is wrong about what is on the output, the other catches it, and the unit stops rather than trust either. The action published is the standard reset, unplug the EV and press and hold the button. Because the two readings are taken by different circuits, a genuine mismatch means one of them has drifted or failed, and that is inside the enclosure where nothing is owner-serviceable.

A one-off after a brownout or during a firmware update deserves the reset; a repeat deserves the closing line of the table, which is to stop using the zappi and contact your supplier or myenergi technical support. This code has nothing to do with your supply voltage being high or low, which is code 31, Bad Voltage Range. There the zappi agrees with itself and disagrees with the grid. Here the grid may be perfectly normal and the zappi disagrees with itself.

What causes it

Causes of myenergi zappi Voltage Mismatch, most common first
CauseWhat is actually happeningHow likely
One of the two measurement circuits has drifted or failedThe meaning of the code. The controller and the protection board should read the same output voltage; when they do not, one is wrong, and the unit cannot tell which.Common
A transient during switching or a supply dipFast changes can catch the two circuits at different instants. The single published reset covers it.Occasional
A protection board that is failing generallyOften keeps company with 26 or 27 on the same unit. Different symptom, same hardware, same call.Occasional
