Alpha Evoke fault codes
Built 2019 onwards
Alpha publish an error table for the Evoke that is identical to the E-Tec Plus one, code for code and description for description, so anything on these pages about a numbered fault applies to both.
Codes on the Evoke follow the same Alpha scheme as the rest of the range. Where a code behaves differently on this generation, the code page says so.

Every published Alpha code. Open a code to see which models and years it applies to.
- E01The appliance tried to light and could not confirm a flame, so it has locked out. In winter a frozen condensate pipe is the most likely reason.Get it checked
- E10Alpha describe E10 as the primary pressure switch operating. Refilling to their green band usually clears it, but the switch itself is on their own list of causes.Get it checked
- E02The overheat thermostat has tripped. Almost always this means water is not moving through the appliance properly rather than that it is running too hot.Get it checked
- E16The control board cannot confirm the fan is running at the speed it asked for, so it will not let the burner light. This one needs an engineer.Get it checked
- E60The appliance cannot confirm the pump is moving water. Left alone it becomes an overheat fault, so it is worth acting on promptly.Get it checked
- E20Alpha call this a flame sensing fault and define it as false flame detection: the appliance can see a flame while the gas valve is shut. Switch it off and call an engineer.Stop — call an engineer
- E38The burner lit correctly and then the flame signal was lost part-way through the cycle. That points somewhere different to a failure to light.Get it checked
- E03Flue gas temperature has exceeded the safe limit. It usually means the heat exchanger is not transferring heat properly into the water.Get it checked
