LG LG TurboWash fault codes
Built 2015 onwards
F4J and F2J prefixes, the generation before AI DD. Still very common second-hand and still carrying the ten-year Direct Drive motor warranty from new.
Codes on the LG TurboWash follow the same LG scheme as the rest of the range. Where a code behaves differently on this generation, the code page says so.
LG fault codes
Every published LG code. Open a code to see which models and years it applies to.
- OEThe machine could not drain the water it used. LG point at the drain filter and the drain hose, and both are owner-accessible.Get it checked
- IEThe drum did not fill to the level it wanted in the time allowed. LG treat IE and 1E as the same code, so you do not need to tell them apart.Get it checked
- UEThe load is heaped on one side of the drum. LG describe it as laundry piled to one side, and it is normal behaviour rather than a breakdown.Usually simple to fix
- LEThe drum failed to turn. LG name overloading and a foreign object first — and if it is the motor, the ten-year warranty may cover the part but not the labour.Get it checked
- FELG publish two different answers for FE. Their manual says close the tap and call an engineer; their UK website says clean the filter and change detergent.Get it checked
- dELG call this a door error and mean the door sensor. It is one of nine codes where their own manual answer is to ring the service centre.Get it checked
- AELG’s owner’s manual gives AE as water leakage, with no owner remedy at all. Close the tap, unplug it, and stop using the machine.Stop — call an engineer
- PEThe water level sensor has failed. LG give this one of only two "close the tap, unplug, call" answers in their whole table.Get it checked
- CEAn over-current in the motor circuit. LG’s own instruction is to close the water tap, unplug the machine, and have it repaired.Stop — call an engineer
- tELG have published three different meanings for tE. Their UK manual calls it a control error and says unplug the machine and call for service.Get it checked
- FFA frozen machine, not a broken one. LG name it FROZEN FAILURE and publish a thawing procedure using warm water and a warm wet towel.Get it checked
- PFNot a fault. The machine lost power mid cycle and is telling you so. LG’s remedy is simply to restart the cycle.Usually simple to fix
- uSThe vibration sensor has failed. LG give two words of remedy — call for service — and the display makes the code itself hard to read.Get it checked
- dHEWasher-dryers only. The drying side has failed and LG publish no owner remedy — their manual says call for service.Get it checked
