Vaillant ecoMAX pro 18E and 28E fault codes

Built 2003–2005

A different platform from the ecoMAX 600/800 with its own table, and the one range where the numbers collide with the ecoTEC's: F.1 and F.4 are an ignition lockout, F.5 an overheat (with a manual reset button on the thermostat), F.6 and F.19 the flow NTC, F.10 the return NTC, F.11 to F.13 and F.18 board-to-display communication, F.14 flow over 95 °C, F.16 flame detection, F.17 mains under 170 V, F.20 incompatible software, F.24 return over 90 °C, F.25 the rise-rate fault and F.26 the flow-to-return spread. A fault shows as a red flashing operating indicator with an "F" in the display; the reset is the on/off slide switch, off for five seconds and on again. Where a number has the same meaning as a later code it is an alias here (F.4 to F.28, F.5 and F.14 to F.20, F.6 and F.19 to F.0, F.17 to F.195); where it means something else, the page for that number says so.

Codes on the ecoMAX pro 18E and 28E follow the same Vaillant scheme as the rest of the range. Where a code behaves differently on this generation, the code page says so.
